membership package

As a celebration of the beginning of Patronus Sans Magnificus, Regular Lawyer is offering a limited number of new members an exclusive membership package.

The membership package includes special membership certificate, a surprise item from Regular Lawyer's office (which could be anything from last year's Corporations Law to a postcard from Regular Lawyer's better travelled friends) and a free gift courtesy of Hughes-Castell (pictured).

When you join up by emailing regularlawyer@gmail.com, include your mailing address and wait in anticipation for your exclusive membership package.

The revolution has begun!

Why Patronus, meaning 'protector'?

Shirley this word is antithetical to the stated goals of the organisation?

Patronus is latin for advocate in a legal context. It's also modelled on Medecins sans Frontieres, as Regular Lawyer expects it to be just as successful, but much more trivial.

Is it just a happy coincidence that the Patronus Charm in Harry Potter books conjures an incarnation of the caster's innermost positive feelings, such as joy, hope, or the desire to survive, known as a Patronus. A Patronus can be viewed as the exact opposite of a Dementor. Even though it embodies all the positive emotions that a Dementor feeds on, a Patronus is conjured as a protector, and is a weapon rather than a feast: Patronuses shield their conjurors from Dementors, and even drive them away.

I really must congratulate the smelly piece of detritus that runs this blogsite.

Regular Lawyer aims to remove the 'smug gittishness' from the legal profession and 'have real lives that don't revolve around the law and things law related' yet all they seem to do is read ancient latin.

As for your free gift, keep your cheap toys and ill-gotten office paraphenalia to yourself. I am lawyer, and as such I will dress, act and work in only the most professional manner. Grow up Regular Lawyer, and cherish the most important profession in the world.

You will find me in the WA Club tonight, wearing the most expensive suit and drinking the finest brandy, if you would like to show your cowardly pitiful face.
